☆020- And the nameless names on the misspelled graves grow tall.
Lockon, also known as Aim, is gone.

[quicklog--2/2]!
Of course. [Despite the easy tone in which he says it, this is not a concession Lyle makes lightly. His relationship with his blood family may be complex and largely a mystery to him, but the title of family had still remained reserved. Even Jack and Bell, men he'd been 'born' with and gotten along with well didn't get any reciprocation to their use of the term "brother" in anything other than joking terms.
But Bastet has been there through the toughest times of his life here, a dependable constant (and, quite honestly, someone he can bitch with on a similar level when it is needed). It can't be denied, she really does count as family, one of the closest things he has to it right now.
So, what the hell. One good surprise deserves another, so the hand he places on her shoulder actually ends up pulling her forward for a loose hug.)
Re: [quicklog]!
[Instead, she loops her arms around his waist, squeezing him back. The top of her head brushes his chin, and she idly wonders why she knows so many oversized men.]
Re: [quicklog]!
[After a bit he does disengage, giving her a lazy salute as he heads towards the door.]
I'll see you later. Take care of yourself.
[That last statement does feel necessary to make, because as nice as their touching moment was, he hasn't forgotten the grief that kicked the whole meeting off. And yeah, she's strong, and he expects her to be all right, but that doesn't mean it's gonna be easy.]
Re: [quicklog]!
[She pulls back when he does, looking up with a small smile as he opens the door.]
Of course. You too.
[And she means it, despite knowing Lyle has a healthy sense of self-preservation. It's not so much that he needs to hear it, as she needs to say it, given recent events.]
[She stands with one hand on the door as he leaves. Her grief isn't gone, but it's tempered for the time being; knowing she's able to help Lyle through his own goes a long way towards assuaging the helplessness that's so familiar in this place.]
[Looking thoughtful, she closes the door as Lyle walks away, blowing out a long breath.]
[She can't fix everything. But her efforts aren't completely futile.]
