Should anyone need a place, I suppose I would be willing to offer mine; though it depends on how well I know the person requesting shelter. If I do not know whomever it is as well as I know you, I may be less immediately willing.

Oh, I'm hardly saying to open up your place as a way station. People here can be nice enough, but I wouldn't trust all of them. [Or most, even.] I'm mostly speculating on how widespread this thing is likely to get.

Perhaps I should look into bringing back a machete of my own. It wouldn't do to be trapped inside my house when I have missed as much work as I have.

I'd recommend it. Possibly some herbicide, if you can get your hands on it.
