☆009-I couldn't feel the sting at all; It hit me like an arrow.

Glad to see those little fuzzballs of doom are finally gone. Anything that multiplies that fast can't be natural. Though, it was kind of fun to watch that one herd of them falling in an endless loop beside the islands.

To Lin: I think I just might have found something similar to what you're looking for. Well, part of something.

The chain attached to the bottom is broken, so I believe there's an integral part missing. I suppose it counts as half-found.

Sure everyone's got a heart of darkness to them. But some people's dark is just a mildly tinted gray compared to the rest of humanity. Derrick couldn't hurt a fly. He's like the gooey caramel center of a candy bar. Youth's too decent to ever do anything bad to anyone that didn't deserve it.

You know what else was warm and fuzzy? Tribbles.

I'm not sure I'm comfortable thinking about what could push those two bound the norm. Why so dark all of a sudden?

Again focusing on the negative! They couldn't help their own biology.

Idle speculation on the human condition should only be done when you're looking down the business end of a bottle or bong. Otherwise nothing will make sense and you'll just depress yourself. Besides how can we judge each other's ethics when we don't remember the events that judge it? All of this business of "good" and "bad" are just labels affixed by society, penultimately.

I was close to figuring out how to fix them! Just needed a little more time. It's so...quiet in the house now.

Genius counters with Bad Logic!

Ah see I think? None of us have a real choice in that matter. Think about it, we're a bunch of amnesics who can't remember anything about ourselves yet somehow we still managed to pass laws? Technically we shouldn't even function as a society, man-friend. You're not kindred to me! Derrick's not my blood brother. But we still think that way. So I think of it as...programing. It's stuff even the Conspiracy left us. You eat eggs in the morning but never at night. You want to but you continue to resist the urge to bash Boss in the head because you 'know' it'll cause more harm than good. Your stomach grows everytime you pass the butcher's shop. I think we bothered to make laws because we can't help it. That's all they left us with. Faint memories of how society is supposed to be.

I know and I expected it. Boss is more trouble than the Tribbles I'd trade any day.

[identity profile] man-genius.livejournal.com 2010-04-25 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok maybe the stomach analogy was too much. Not Pavlovian exactly, we have more wiggle room than that. Just line...lines of data stored in our brains that we can default to if necessary. It's like how we wake up knowing how to read and write.

...Ok that guy? Has to be a joke. Like Boss. It's as if he got the default psychopath program left in him. It's like, you know how babies are supposed to be tiny little blank slates except for the curiosities their DNA leaves them with like bad eyesight or acne? We should be like that but we're not.

What's he worth you think?

...ick and here's where Dollhouse reality differs from ours lol

[identity profile] man-genius.livejournal.com 2010-04-25 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. That's also possible because when Derrick, Bell and I got our memories erased it was just a temporary loss. But the human mind isn't some magical bag of holding you know. There's limits. What happens if we got all those old memories back--who am I then? Genius or this guy I don't even remember? That's why we need a way to look inside of our heads to see how we've been altered. If things are just blocked they can be unblocked. If the memories have been removed well then...its a lot more complicated.

I'm a medic, I can pay top dollar.

[identity profile] man-genius.livejournal.com 2010-04-25 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
What if I can't?

Or simply removed. You take out a new of the neuropathways that connect you to your memory of grandma and poof! It's like it ever existed because the road's been removed. Xrays won't cut it. We need something like magnetic resonance imaging, where you take a picture of the brain by manipulating magnetic fields...in other words we need more technology than we currently own. I'd have to create something...

Don't you want a Boss of your own to torment people with?

[identity profile] man-genius.livejournal.com 2010-04-25 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm saying maybe I don't want to leave it, Gene. I don't want to know at all. Not everyone here WANTS their memories back.

Computer chips. Anything that remotely resembles a scanner. Hell, a digital camera would be useful, just in general. Basically if it looks big and shiny and looks like it once went 'ping!'? I'm interested.

Ok how about your worst enemy?

[identity profile] man-genius.livejournal.com 2010-04-25 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey somebody's gotta run the show. Better your brains than mine!

...Thanks.

How about Mr.Fuckyouallnowdie? I can't decide if that's mean to him or to Boss.

[identity profile] man-genius.livejournal.com 2010-04-26 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah we'll cross that line when we get to it. Don't worry Name-Twin, my hankering for brains doesn't include yours or anyone else I know.

[Actually if it came down to it he would test it on himself first. Hey he made a doll of himself, so I can see it happening]

I could charge money for that.

It leaves a horrible stain on the floor.

Gee darn.
